Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2001

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2001 and shall come into operation on 2nd July 2001.

Amendment of rule 8

2. Rule 8 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word ’’certificate’’ in paragraph (4) and substituting the word “notice”;

(b)

by deleting the words “new certificate” in the 4th line of paragraph (10) and substituting the word “notice”; and

(c)

by deleting paragraph (11) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(11) The notices issued under paragraph (10) shall replace the notice referred to in paragraph (4).”.
