Building Control Act
Building Control (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 50 of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 7th July 1997.
2. Regulation 61 of the Building Control Regulations (Rg 5) is amended by renumbering the regulation as paragraph (1) of that regulation, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraphs:
“(2) Where a structural supporting system is installed in or on a building (other than a bungalow, semi-detached, terraced or linked house) by a trained worker as defined in the Schedule to the Act for the purpose of supporting a window air-conditioning unit or a condensing equipment of an air-conditioning unit which is installed —
(a)
on the exterior of the building; or
(b)
in such a manner that a part of such unit or equipment projects outwards from the building,
the person for whom the installation of the structural supporting system is carried out shall, within 14 days of the completion of such installation, file with the Building Authority a duly completed installation report which is signed by him and the trained worker.
(3) The installation report referred to in paragraph (2) shall be in such form as the Building Authority may provide.”.
