In exercise of the powers conferred by section 26 of the Singapore Academy of Law Act, the Senate of the Academy hereby makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Academy of Law (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 9th January 1998.
2. Rule 11C(1) of the Singapore Academy of Law Rules (R 1) is amended —
(a)
by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (a), the following sub-paragraph:
“(aa)
a deputy chairman as appointed by the Senate;”.
(b)
by deleting sub-paragraph (j) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
“(j)
a person nominated by the Attorney-General;”.
(c)
by deleting sub-paragraph (m) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
“(m)
not less than 3 other persons appointed by the Senate.”.
