Effect of acquiescence
19.
—(1)  Section 24 of the Act applies where the proprietor of an earlier trade mark has acquiesced for a continuous period of 5 years in the use of a protected international trade mark (Singapore).
(2)  For the purpose of applying section 24 of the Act —
(a)
the reference in that section to a registered trade mark shall be treated as a reference to a protected international trade mark (Singapore); and
(b)
references in that section to registration shall be treated as references to protection of a protected international trade mark (Singapore).
