Singapore Armed Forces Act
Singapore Armed Forces (Deployment in Aid of Civilian Authorities — Protection of Key Installations) Order 2007
Whereas the Minister for Defence, after consulting the Committee appointed under section 201C(2) of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, is of the opinion that a terrorist attack on certain key civilian installations vital to the stability of Singapore could occur, and that the Singapore Armed Forces is required to be deployed to assist the Singapore Police Force to protect the installations:
Now therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 201C of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, the Minister for Defence hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces (Deployment in Aid of Civilian Authorities –– Protection of Key Installations) Order 2007 and shall come into operation on 29th August 2007.

—(1) The Singapore Armed Forces is deployed to assist the Singapore Police Force to protect the installations at the following locations and the persons and property therein against any terrorist attack which could occur on the infrastructure or installations at any such location:
(a)
all the infrastructure on Jurong Island;
(b)
Sembawang Wharves;
(c)
ExxonMobil Refinery, 18 Pioneer Road;
(d)
Singapore Changi Airport.
(2) Any serviceman deployed for duty under this Order may exercise any of the powers in section 201C(9) of the Act at, in the immediate vicinity of and on the roads approaching, the locations specified in sub-paragraph (1), in accordance with the rules of engagement approved by the Minister for his deployment under this Order.
3. This Order shall remain in force until 31st July 2010, unless earlier revoked or varied.
