Registration of Deeds (Amendment) Rules 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Registration of Deeds Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Registration of Deeds (Amendment) Rules 1999 and shall come into operation on 20th December 1999.
New rule 5A
2.  The Registration of Deeds Rules (R 1) are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 5, the following rule:
“Closure of Registry
5A.  Notwithstanding anything in these Rules, the Registry shall be closed on 31st December 1999, and on that day —
(a)
no instrument may be lodged for registration at the Registry; and
(b)
the records kept at the Registry shall not be open to inspection.”.
