—(1) Where a member or his dependant who is suffering from terminal illness has received, on or after 1st November 1994, medical treatment as an in-patient from an approved medical practitioner in an approved hospice, the amount that may be withdrawn by the member for —
the payment of attendance fees of the approved medical practitioner or practitioners shall not exceed $30 per day;
the payment of medical treatment, including attendance fees, shall not exceed $100 per day; and
the payment of all such medical treatment shall not exceed the total credit balance in the member’s medisave account.
(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to any form of medical treatment unless it has been approved by the Minister for Health for the purposes of these Regulations.
(3) In this regulation, “approved hospice” means any premises which provides for the care of terminally ill patients and which is approved by the Minister for Health for the purposes of these Regulations.
