—(1) If it is reported to the Principal that a student has committed a disciplinary offence, the Principal may appoint a member of the staff of the Polytechnic to investigate into the allegation and to submit a report to him.
(2) The Principal shall, after considering the report submitted under paragraph (1), decide whether —
(a)
any further investigation is necessary;
(b)
the student concerned should, after having been given a reasonable opportunity of being heard —
(i)
be assigned work relating to his course of study; or
(ii)
be fined a sum not exceeding $250; or
(c)
there should be an inquiry by the Student Disciplinary Committee.
(3) Where it is decided that there should be an inquiry by the Student Disciplinary Committee, the Principal may, pending such inquiry, suspend the student from pursuing his studies in the Polytechnic until the matter has been dealt with by the Student Disciplinary Committee.
