Town Councils (Minimum Amount of Charges for Payment Into Sinking Funds) (Amendment) Rules 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 33 (5) and 51 of the Town Councils Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Town Councils (Minimum Amount of Charges for Payment into Sinking Funds) (Amendment) Rules 1997 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 1997.
2. Rule 2 of the Town Councils (Minimum Amount of Charges for Payment into Sinking Funds) Rules (R 2) is amended by deleting the word “The” in the first line and substituting the words “Subject to rule 3, the”.
3. The Town Councils (Minimum Amount of Charges for Payment into Sinking Funds) Rules are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 2, the following rule:
3. These Rules shall not apply to grants-in-aid made to a Town Council to offset household water rate increases.”.
