Road Traffic (Vocational Licence — Exemption) Order 2006
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Vocational Licence — Exemption) Order 2006 and shall come into operation on 18th September 2006.
2. Section 110 of the Act and rule 3(1) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) (Vocational Licences and Conduct of Drivers, Conductors and Passengers) Rules (R 8) shall not apply to, and in relation to, any person who drives an excursion bus or a private hire bus where —
(a)
the holder of the excursion bus licence or private hire bus licence (as the case may be) has obtained the Registrar’s permission for the use of the excursion bus or private hire bus as a private bus; and
(b)
the excursion bus or private hire bus (as the case may be) is owned or hired by the person’s employer.
