Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Seat Belts) (Exemption) Order 2009
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Seat Belts) (Exemption) Order 2009 and shall come into operation on 3rd August 2009.
2. Rule 3(1) of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Seat Belts) Rules (R 15) shall not apply to any omnibus which —
(a)
is registered on or before 31st December 2009 in the name of SBS Transit Ltd or SMRT Bus Ltd; and
(b)
is used only for the operation of the bus services which SBS Transit Ltd or SMRT Bus Ltd, as the case may be, is licensed to operate under section 12 of the Public Transport Council Act (Cap. 259B).
