Betting and Sweepstake Duties Act
Betting and Sweepstake Duties (Prescribed Sporting Event) Notification 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by the definition of “sporting event” in section 2 of the Betting and Sweepstake Duties Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Notification:
1. This Notification may be cited as the Betting and Sweepstake Duties (Prescribed Sporting Event) Notification 2008 and shall come into operation on 3rd March 2008.
2. For the purposes of the definition of “sporting event” in section 2 of the Act, the Minister hereby prescribes the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Formula One World Championship 2008 as a sporting event.
