Road Traffic (Temporary Private Hire Cars) (Exemption) (No. 6) Order 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Temporary Private Hire Cars) (Exemption) (No. 6) Order 2010.
2. In this Order, “Youth Olympic Games 2010” means the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore from 14th August 2010 to 26th August 2010 (both dates inclusive).
3. Section 101 of the Act shall not apply to a vehicle which bears any registration number set out in the Schedule and which —
(a)
is used as a private hire car between 14th August 2010 and 31st August 2010 (both dates inclusive) by ComfortDelgro Corporation Ltd for the purpose of the event known as the Youth Olympic Games 2010;
(b)
has valid insurance cover for its use as a private hire car when it is so used;
(c)
displays a label issued by the Registrar in such manner as he may require; and
(d)
does not ply for hire as if it were a taxi.
