—(1) Section 5(6) of the Charities Act (Cap. 37, 1995 Ed.) is amended —
(a)
by inserting, immediately after the words “subsection (5)” in the last line of paragraph (a), the words “, within 3 months after its establishment or such longer period as the Commissioner may, in his discretion, allow”; and
(b)
by inserting, immediately after the word “trusts,” at the end of paragraph (b), the words “within 7 days after such cessation or change or such longer period as the Commissioner may, in his discretion, allow,”.
(2) Section 7 of the Charities Act is amended by deleting subsection (5) and substituting the following subsection:
“(5) Where the name of any charity is changed under this section, it shall be the duty of the charity trustees to notify the Commissioner, within 7 days after such change or such longer period as the Commissioner may, in his discretion, allow, of the new name of the charity and of the date on which the change occurred.”.
