—(1) Subject to this Act and the rules, the Registrar shall register all assurances and other instruments that are entitled to be registered under this Act which or memorials of which are presented to him for registration in the order in which they are so presented and shall make such entries as are prescribed.
(2) No assurance or instrument shall be registered under this Act unless it complies with the requirements of this Act and the rules.
(3) The register maintained by the Registrar for the purposes of this Act may be kept wholly or partly —
(a)
on paper or microfilm, or in any other medium or a combination of mediums capable of having information recorded in or upon it or them; and
(b)
in a device for storing and processing information.
(4) The Registrar may micro-film assurances and other instruments registered under this Act and any repealed enactment and dispose of them in such manner as he may think fit after they have been micro-filmed.
