Town Council of Bishan-toa Payoh (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2003
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(1) of the Town Councils Act, the Town Council for the Town of Bishan-Toa Payoh hereby makes the following By-laws:
1. These By-laws may be cited as the Town Council of Bishan-Toa Payoh (Conservancy and Service Charges) (Amendment) By-laws 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2003.
2. By-law 3 of the Town Council of Bishan-Toa Payoh (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws (By 68) is deleted and the following by-law substituted therefor:
3. The conservancy and service charges specified in the Schedule are inclusive of the goods and services tax chargeable under the Goods and Services Tax Act (Cap. 117A) on the services in respect of which such conservancy and service charges are payable.”.
3. The Schedule to the Town Council of Bishan-Toa Payoh (Conservancy and Service Charges) By-laws is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “Items 1 to 4” immediately below the heading “Monthly conservancy and service charges” in the second column;
(b)
by deleting items 10 to 13 and substituting the following items:

10. Shop with living accommodation which — | |
(a) closes its business by midnight | $1.56 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $49.92 in addition to the reduced rate of the conservancy and service charges for the equivalent room type specified in items 1 to 4. |
(b) remains open for business after midnight | $3.12 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $99.84 in addition to the reduced rate of the conservancy and service charges for the equivalent room type specified in items 1 to 4. |
11. Shop without living accommodation which — | |
(a) closes its business by midnight | $1.56 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $49.92. |
(b) remains open for business after midnight | $3.12 per square metre of the area of the shop subject to a minimum of $99.84. |
12. Kiosk or shoplet | $1.56 per square metre of the area of the premises subject to a minimum of $49.92. |
13.—(1) Stall — | |
(a) Cooked food stall | $13.52 per square metre or part thereof of the stall area subject to a minimum of $135.20 for the first 10 square metres. |
(b) Fruit, preserved and dried goods, fresh fish and seafood, meat or poultry stall | $7.28 per square metre or part thereof of the stall area subject to a minimum of $72.80 for the first 10 square metres. |
(c) Vegetable, bean curd and noodle, eggs, ground assorted spices or miscellaneous stall | $4.16 per square metre or part thereof of the stall area subject to a minimum of $41.60 for the first 10 square metres. |
(d) Piece and sundry stall | $8.32 per square metre or part thereof of the stall area subject to a minimum of $83.20 for the first 10 square metres. |
(2) 2 or more stalls with total area exceeding 10 square metres allotted to a stallholder | Charges for each additional stall shall be double the conservancy and service charges for the first stall allotted to the stallholder set out in paragraph (1). |
(c)
by deleting the words “items 1 to 4” in paragraph (1) under the heading “Note” and substituting the words “items 1 to 9”.
