1. These Regulations may be cited as the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea (Composition of Offences) Regulations.

—(1) Any of the offences specified in the Schedule may be compounded for a sum not exceeding $2,000.
(2) The offence punishable under section 24(5) of the Act (opposing or obstructing detention of a ship) may be compounded for a sum not exceeding $500.
