Central Provident Fund Act
Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2008
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2008.
2. Regulation 2 of the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) Regulations (Rg 18) is amended —
by renumbering the regulation as paragraph (1) of that regulation, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:
“(2) For the purposes of section 22 of the Act and these Regulations, “course of study” means a full-time course of study which —
is conducted primarily at an approved educational institution; and
leads to an undergraduate degree (including an Honours degree) or a diploma (including an advanced Diploma) conferred by —
that approved educational institution; or
another educational institution approved by the Minister for the purposes of this paragraph, being an educational institution which conducts a course leading to an undergraduate degree (including an Honours degree) or a diploma (including an advanced Diploma) in collaboration with that approved educational institution.”.
3. The Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) Regulations are amended by deleting the words “approved tertiary institution” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “approved educational institution”:
Regulations 3(1), (3) and (4), 4(1), 5(1) and (2)(a) and 7(1) and (2).
